AFSCME MEMBERS HELPING OUR COMMUNITY

Your local sponsored a food distribution to the needy in Urbana.  The distribution, in conjunction with the Champaign County AFL-CIO and the United Way Community Services Liaison, Eric Westlund, served over 100 families with food during the holiday season. 

Waking up to ice covered sidewalks and streets,several members stepped up and assisted with the distribution and I believe all went home with a warmth in their heart for those less fortunate.

Keep an eye out for other community service projects that your local is planning.   

We can always use extra hands and the feeling you get from participation is worth the effort.

MEMBERSHIP MEETING

  

The next membership meeting will be held March 18, 2008 at the AFSCME office in Urbana.  Meeting will begin promptly at 5:30 pm.  This meeting is open to all full dues paying members.
